Welcome back to Module's prejoin!

Today's another discussion day, and I'm really curious to hear some answers to this...! Let's talk about production over all. Because Vocaloid encourages a wide range of talents, the production side of things can be quite detailed.

So, do you sing or play an instrument? Other kinds of audio tuning like mixing or mastering? Produce your own electronic music or songs...?! If not, what one would you choose to play, or what one is your favorite?

Or how about video editing? Do you produce your PVs or make AMVs or something else of that nature? Draw fanart? Basically, if Vocaloid has influenced you musically/creatively or you make your own Vocaloid stuff, I'd love to hear it!

i want to learn how to make music!!! it seems so kewel....probably just flstudio or such though. and maybe keyboard...one day...i do enjoy drawing as well and that is part of production as well to me at least :) chaos pleoise

I've played piano for years and years. I'd love to see if I can find some piano covers of Vocaloid covers I can learn. I also would love to try my hand at drawing a PV. Elegant please!

I learned cello at school, but I'm very bad at it. Also would love to play the piano but never learned (also have tiny hands so it's a struggle lol ;-;).

I do try to sing on Youtube with covers for anime/vocaloid/kpop, but as I've been told by my hubby who used to mix me and complains, I'm actually kinda/really tone deaf LOL He's been trying to get me to learn music production in flstudio and vocaloid tuning, but honestly without an ear for it and the inability to tell notes apart, it is very difficult. I don't have basic music theory knowledge at all T-T I do tune myself sometimes in Melodyne, it's a skill I'm still learning since I have to use a guide for notes as my ear for right notes is pretty bad. The best part though, is that most Vocaloid covers usually (sometimes) include a .vsqx that I can import into the Vocaloid program to see what the correct notes are for my singing covers LOL I also try to do video editing as well - my PC isn't good enough to run After Effects but I did play around in Sony Vegas briefly to learn how to make Vocaloid PVs. I can't draw at all, but I do my best to do some mix/staff work for youtube choruses and vocaloid chorus battles x)

i used to do musical theater, so i did some singing! i'm definitely out of practice though, and i was mostly ensemble because i wasn't that skilled, but i did have a couple of named roles, like papa ge in once on this island and the steward in into the woods.

i do intend to cosplay vocaloid one day, though! i want to make the jackets from matryoshka so my partner and i can wear them to a vocaloid concert whenever we make it to one, and i think making miku's standard outfit could be a fun exercise in working with fabrics i don't normally work with!

i enjoy singing! but honestly idk if i'm good or not 😭 i sound good to myself but idk to... others...?? i do know how to make some music, though,, i had a college class recently on music production which taught us stuff like harmonies and chord progressions, i like to think my final project for that class was pretty good
on the video side of things, i lovee to edit things! actually, the appearance of lyrics in pvs is a huge inspiration to my text mographs for class (if only i could use pretty kanji,,, oh well)

when i was a kid i learned how to play the organ/electone (2 keyboards) for like 5 years because my mother wanted a back-up plan in case a flunked out of school, but i motivated myself with the fact that i could learn how play disney and anime songs!! i distinctly remember finding the sheet music for Every Heart by BoA lol

alas i stopped lessons before i discovered vocaloid if not i think i would've learned how to play luka luka night fever or something

I sing at karaokes but def not anything to talk about. I used to play violin, but its been so long that I probably forgot everything.

I actually played piano from when I was a child up until I was 17! piano was what taught me to love music and appreciate how its made. unfortunately I don't play anymore, but often vocaloid has made me consider the idea of making my own music. I used to write my own song lyrics all the time and was greatly influenced by my favorite producers of when I was younger

I do sing, and I have a yt channel for my covers. I have only covered a few Vocaloid songs though, as I usually focus on idol anime songs.

I play saxophone! Tenor's my specialty, but I started on alto so I'm pretty good at that too. I can't sing at all and can't really stand the sound of my own voice, but I've played around with doing covers on utau and synth v. I even started one on voisona back when it was still cevio pro! I did record my own eng utau and paid to have it oto'd and everything, but I haven't done much with it because making eng covers in utau Hard. I like writing translyrics though, and my favorite vsynth to work with is actually Yohioloid! I'd love to get into music production someday, and I've played around with doing eurobeat touhou arrangements, but aside from that I just don't know where to start. It's hard to find tutorials on youtube that aren't like, Grindset Mode guys just pumping out clickbaity stuff in an attempt to make money. If anyone knows of any good places to learn please send them my way!

I used to play the viola in school, 3rd through 12th grade! I still have it but the case hasn't been opened in many years... I was never very good at it but I do miss playing with an orchestra, it was always really fun. I don't have any other musical skills (horrible singer and can't read music that isn't alto clef lol) but I always thought learning the piano would be cool.

My only foray into making an AMV was a single attempt in high school when I had the bright idea of trying to make a Kingdom Hearts AMV using....Windows Movie Maker I think it was lmao. Got about 3% done before I gave up!!

I used to play piano, violin, and clarinet when I was younger! I haven't played any of them in many many years, but I stuck with violin almost my entire schooling... A long time ago it was my dream to get a position at a symphony orchestra that performed video game music lol. Kinda wish I kept up with it, but alas... I guess there's always time to get back into it at least.

I did think a long time ago about buying some of the Vocaloid voicebanks, but nothing came of it. Maybe someday! I would love to get into composing music instead of just playing it, but I'd want to take a music theory class first.

I plinked my way through piano when I was younger! I don't really remember much about sheet music anymore and at the time I hated it but now I really treasure it and wish I had continued haha. Oh, the indiscretions of youth.

I can't carry a tune in a bucket, but I'd love to be able to actually sing. And the drums seem interesting but I don't think I have the upper arm strength to do that lol.
